Teachers seeking Initial licensure in the State of Tennessee are required to take both the Praxis I Pre-Professional-Skills-Test (PPST) and the Praxis II.
Tennessee Department of Education requires your Social Security Number (SSN) when you register for any Praxis test. This will help them create a file for your scores with the Tennessee Department of Education.
The Praxis I Exam can be taken one time per month up to 6 times per year, including cancelled scores. There are two formats for the Praxis1 test. You can either take the Paper-Based PPST, or the Computer-Based CPPST. For testing information go to Education Testing Services (ETS) at www.ets.org/praxis.
For Paper-Based Praxis I (PPST) the required scores and codes are as follows:
