The State of Utah does not require the Praxis 1 PPST Pre-Professional-Skills-Test (PPST) for Teacher Licensure, however the following Universities require the Praxis I upon admission into the Teacher Education Program.

For University of Utah, all students must take the Praxis 1 Pre-Professional-Skills-Test (PPST) with scores of 173 in Reading Writing and Mathematics, in order to be admitted into the teacher education program.
For the Computer-Based Praxis I CPPST the qualifying codes and scores are as follows:
5710 CPPST Reading 173
5720 CPPST Writing Not required
5730 CPPST Mathematics 173
For the Paper-Based Praxis 1 PPST the qualifying codes and scores are as follows:

Utah Valley University (UVU) requires all students entering the Secondary Education Program to fulfill admission criteria:
ACT minimum score of 18 on subsets and 20 composite or PRAXIS I (PPST) score for Reading of 170,
and Mathematics of 173 or higher on both the Computer-BAsed (CPPST) and the Paper-Based
(PPST).
GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Interview directed by the teacher education selection committee.
