All initial licensure applicants in the State of Vermont are required to take and pass the Praxis I Pre-Professional-Skills-Test (PPST).
There are two options for taking the PPST: the Computer-Based Praxis I, and the Paper-Based Praxis I. All tests are administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS) through Sylvan Learning Centers or Prometric Testing centers (www.prometric.com).
When you take a Praxis 1 Test in the State of Vermont, your scores will automatically be sent to the Vermont Department of Education. If you would like for your Praxis I test scores to be sent to an institution you are attending, you will need to designate them to receive a score when registering for the test.
The Praxis I can be taken one time each month up to 6 times in a year, including cancelled scores.
